Sure, you could use SmartArt, but there are limits to how much you can tweak those charts and graphs to suit your message.
You can even type out a list of bullets and convert them to a SmartArt, but if you don’t like the outcome of that little move, what do you do then?

Diagrammer.com
Diagrammer.com is one of Nancy Duarte’s projects. Her firm creates slide decks for some of the most prestigious speakers on the planet, so they know a few things about creating great slide decks.
You’ll have to enter your email, but the selection and ease of using the PowerPoint-ready downloads is worth it. And I’ve never received an email from them.
You’ll choose from style, number of nodes and either 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional.
After that, it’s click, download, open and start editing.
Editing can get a little tricky, as the suite of blue colors in the Diagrammer downloads do not immediately adapt to the color scheme you’ve selected for the current deck.
Use the selection pane to help you know exactly which piece of the puzzle you’re editing. Find that by clicking on Home-Arrange-Selection Pane. You’ll get a panel that identifies each piece you’ve got on your current screen. Select the ones you want, adjust the color, gradient, fill image or texture and go.

So let’s forget bullets ever existed.
Use Diagrammer instead.
